Mrs Obama - the first wife of the President's father, Barack Senior - has been living in Bracknell, UK for seven years after moving to Britain in 2002.
Her life has, of late, been peculiarly rich and diverse. How many people can say they've visited 'the Gala' in Woking and The White House in the same week? Kezia Obama is a regular at the Gala bingo halls in Woking, and Slough. Closer to home, she often walks to the Point Bingo hall near her one-bedroom council bungalow in Bracknell, Berkshire. It's just a week since Mrs Obama returned from her trip to Washington DC to see her stepson inaugurated as 44th President. A taxi collected her on January 15 and took her to Heathrow Airport, where six policemen escorted her to the plane. Read more about Kezia's story here>>> |

Kenya's First Lady Lucy Kibaki has been implicated in the controversial maize saga, which reportedly caused the main deficit in the national maize reserves. The deficit forced the country's main staple food prices to hike, leaving over 10 million people in need of emergency food. According to documents presented before the parliament yesterday, it is alleged that the First Lady is one of the directors of Gingalili (1968) Ltd, which bought maize on 22 October last year, from the national stores. The Speaker of the National Assembly will decide whether the documents are authentic. However, the Presidential Press Service defended the First Lady, saying she had never traded in maize, further indicating that the allegations were careless and meant to divert attention from a serious matter of availability and affordability of food.
