According to Ananova, officers trailed the couple's car after noticing it was swerving from side to side and travelling at 20mph over the speed limit, reports the BBC.

But they soon realised the erratic driving was due to the woman "sitting on the man's lap", a police spokesman said.

After filming the exploit for evidence, they pulled them over at a rest area on the E18 motorway, west of Oslo.

The 28-year-old man is likely to face a fine of several thousand Norwegian kroner and a lengthy driving ban.

"Why they did it on a highway with such a high risk we don't know," said Superintendent Tor Stein Hagen.

Despite her role in the incident, the 21-year-old woman was allowed by police to drive her lover home.

EU action on BritainThe European Commission started legal action against Britain on Tuesday for what it called a failure to keep people's online details confidential.

The move is part of a wider push by the EU's executive branch to ensure privacy is not abused by new technologies that electronically tag a consumer's every step.

EU Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding said the action related to how Internet service providers used Phorm technology to send subscribers bespoke advertisements based on websites they had visited.

Shares in Phorm closed down 2 percent at 500 pence in London after moving higher before the EU announcement.

Britain has two months to respond to the charges outlined in the letter of formal notice from the Commission. MORE>>>

BARACK OBAMA’s half-brother has been refused entry to Britain after reportedly being accused of an attempted sex attack on a 13-year-old girl on his last visit. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00521/Sams_521472a.jpg

Samson Obama, who runs a mobile phone shop in Nairobi in Kenya, was on his way to the president’s inauguration in January when he tried to stop over in Britain to visit relatives. But he was turned away by immigration officers who declined to issue a visa on the grounds of deception.

Biometric tests carried out at East Midlands airport showed that he was linked to the attack on a girl in Berkshire last November but never charged, according to a report last night. Further checks identified Samson as the half-brother of President Obama, leading to a hurried call to the White House. MORE>>>

Do’s and don’ts of buying land in Kenya PDF Print E-mail

Tuesday, 31 March 2009 22:16
http://www.bdafrica.com/images/stories/Infrastructure/bd-house-Unfinished2.jpgMarch 31, 2009: Land in Kenya is such a thorny issue, that hardly a day passes without a story or other in the Press about land. One day, it is government bulldozers tearing down beautiful maisonettes allegedly because they were constructed on road-reserves and the “land-owners” are left crying out “we had no idea it was a road reserve. We have perfectly valid title deeds.”

You will also hear of someone who completed the purchase of  a property, only to discover several other people hold  “valid” title  deeds to the same property.

Many Kenyans mistakenly believe that when they purchase land from a person holding a title deed that appears valid on the face of it, they have obtained good title to the land. Unfortunately, the deplorable state of our Land registries coupled with the high level of corruption and inefficiencies that characterise our public offices contribute to this not always being the case.

It is an uncontestable fact that our fragmented land laws need to be urgently and comprehensively reviewed and amended, our land registries need to digitalised and the Ndung’u Commission recommendations need to be implemented, if sanctity of the title deed is to no longer be a thing of the past.
